National Cyber Awards, Growing our voice and more
By the Guardian Compass Team

August was an exciting month for us at Guardian Compass. As we continue building tools to help families navigate the digital world with confidence, we spent much of the month listening, learning and strengthening our connections with both the cybersecurity community and the parents we aim to support. Alongside growing our presence online, we were also delighted to receive recognition for the progress we've made so far and to welcome new expertise into the team.
National Recognition and New Connections
One of the highlights of the month was being named a finalist at the National Cyber Awards. During August, we attended the initial networking event in London, giving us the opportunity to connect with cybersecurity professionals, innovators and organisations from across the UK.
As a young company, opportunities like these are incredibly valuable. They allow us to share our vision, learn from others working across the sector and continue building relationships that will help shape Guardian Compass as we grow. This recognition is also a reflection of the support we've received from our partners, advisors and the families who have taken the time to engage with us.
Growing Our Voice
This month we placed a renewed focus on our social media activity as we look to build a community around the challenges and opportunities families face in an increasingly digital world.
We're delighted to have welcomed Molly as Head of Social Media, helping us share more of our journey and create useful, engaging content for parents, educators and the wider safeguarding community. August saw us begin expanding our online presence and laying the foundations for more regular updates, insights and conversations in the months ahead.
Listening to Parents
As we move closer to launch, one of our biggest priorities remains understanding the experiences of parents navigating today's digital landscape.
Throughout August, we continued speaking with parents about the opportunities, concerns and challenges they encounter as technology becomes an increasingly important part of family life. These conversations are invaluable in helping us ensure that everything we build remains grounded in real-world needs and supports families in ways that are practical, accessible and effective.
We're grateful to every parent who has shared their experiences with us and look forward to continuing those conversations in the months ahead.
Looking Ahead to September
In September, we'll continue expanding our conversations with parents, growing our online community and sharing more about our mission to help families navigate the digital world with confidence. We're also looking forward to building on the momentum of recent months as we continue preparing for the next stage of the Guardian Compass journey.
